• Illyarrie is the Aboriginal name for this plant (1)
• Can grow to a large magnificent specimen. The seeds collected for use in horticulture were taken from the edge of the species range where the trees are smaller and scrawnier than those in the middle of its range. The specimen at Broadway Arboretum is the smaller more scrawny variety.
• Grows on sandy soils, limestone ridges and outcrops.
• Listed as a waterwise plant for Perth gardens.
